We Buy Your Spanish Car

Buying a Car From Us

Our Warranty & Vehicle Preparation

Used cars, properly prepared and sold with confidence.

When you buy a car from We Buy Your Spanish Car, we want you to know what you're buying and who you're buying it from.

We are not interested in simply buying cars and putting them straight back up for sale. Every vehicle we retail is assessed, driven and prepared before being offered for sale.

Where a vehicle is advertised with a 12 month warranty, that warranty is included in the advertised price. There is no additional warranty fee.

Warranty and ownership transfer apply where stated in the individual vehicle's advert.

Before the car is advertised

Five steps before a car goes on sale

  1. 01

    We buy the car

We assess the car when purchasing it and look at its overall mechanical and cosmetic condition.

  2. 02

    Mechanical assessment

Before retail sale, we check the vehicle's general mechanical operation and look for obvious faults or issues requiring attention.

  3. 03

    Preparation

Where necessary, maintenance, servicing or repairs are carried out before the vehicle is offered for sale.

  4. 04

    Road test

The car is driven to check that the engine, gearbox, brakes, steering and general driving behaviour are operating as expected.

  5. 05

    Honest advertisement

The vehicle is photographed and described based on its actual condition. Because our vehicles are used, normal age related marks and wear may still be present and we do not pretend otherwise.

Your 12 month warranty

What does the 12 month warranty actually mean?

When a vehicle is advertised by us with a 12 month warranty, the warranty is included with the vehicle at no additional cost.

Its purpose is to protect the buyer if the vehicle develops an unexpected mechanical fault covered by the warranty during the warranty period.

It is not intended to replace routine maintenance or cover components which naturally wear through normal use.

Engine

Cover may apply to qualifying unexpected mechanical failure of covered internal engine components.

Subject to the individual warranty terms

Gearbox

Cover may apply to qualifying unexpected mechanical failure of covered internal components of the manual or automatic transmission.

Subject to the individual warranty terms

Cooling & Mechanical Systems

Certain unexpected failures involving covered mechanical components may also be included depending on the warranty supplied with the individual vehicle.

Subject to the individual warranty terms

Electrical & Ancillary Components

Coverage of electrical and ancillary components depends on the individual warranty terms supplied with the vehicle.

Subject to the individual warranty terms

If you want to know whether a particular component is covered before buying a car, ask us. We will explain it rather than give you a vague answer.

Warranty vs wear & tear

Unexpected mechanical fault

An unexpected internal mechanical failure may potentially be covered, subject to the warranty terms.

For example: a sudden internal engine or gearbox failure that isn't caused by wear, neglect or misuse.

Normal wear and maintenance

Items that naturally deteriorate through use are not normally warranty items.

  • Tyres
  • Brake pads
  • Brake discs
  • Wiper blades
  • Bulbs
  • Routine servicing
  • Oil and filters
  • Cosmetic marks
  • Interior wear
  • Age related deterioration
  • Clutch components where the issue is attributable to normal wear or driver use
  • Battery deterioration caused by normal age and use

If your car develops a problem

You'll know exactly who to contact

  1. 1

    Contact us

Contact We Buy Your Spanish Car as soon as you become aware of a potential mechanical problem.

  2. 2

    Tell us what is happening

Explain the symptoms and provide any relevant warning lights, photographs, videos or diagnostic information if available.

  3. 3

    Let us assess it

We will discuss the issue with you and arrange or advise on the appropriate next step.

  4. 4

    Repair / warranty assessment

If the fault falls within the applicable warranty, we will explain how the repair or warranty process will be handled.

Please contact us before authorising repairs with another garage if you intend to make a warranty claim.

That way we can help you get it sorted properly from the start.

What we expect from you

Like any vehicle, a used car needs proper maintenance. Customers should maintain the vehicle correctly, monitor oil and coolant levels, respond appropriately to warning lights and follow normal servicing requirements.

Continuing to drive a vehicle after a serious warning light, overheating warning or obvious mechanical problem may cause additional damage.

Used doesn't mean perfect.

We sell used cars, not brand new ones.

A used vehicle may have small marks, scratches, stone chips, interior wear or other signs of its previous life. We believe the right approach is to be honest about that rather than try to make every car sound perfect.

What matters to us is that the vehicle is properly represented, prepared appropriately and that you have the opportunity to inspect and test drive it before making your decision.

Questions before you buy?

Ask us. We would rather explain it now.

If you have a question about a particular car, its condition, preparation, service history or warranty coverage, contact us before purchasing. We are happy to explain what we know about the vehicle.

Nothing on this page is intended to exclude or limit statutory consumer rights applicable under Spanish law. Vehicle specific warranty terms and conditions will be confirmed in the documentation applicable to the individual sale.
